BEMIDJI—More than 100 young singers and dancers will show off their skills on Friday during the culmination of the 13th annual Bemidji Area Summer Show Choir Camp.

The event will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 10, at the Bemidji High School auditorium. The show is free and open to the public.

"We take three songs and put a little show together," said Chris Fettig, the vocal teacher for the camp. "They're learning some things about vocal technique, and singing and dancing at the same time."

Friday's performance will include the numbers "Step One" from the musical "Kinky Boots," "A Million Dreams" from "The Greatest Showman," and and "Feel It Still," as performed by Portugal the Man.

The weeklong camp includes about 120 participants, mainly comprised of students in grades 5-8. Students with the Bemidji High School group Vocalmotive helped staff the camp.

"All our counselors are high school show choir members. It gives them a good experience, too, to work with young people," Fettig said.
